Give a Dog a Bone

When a dog gets a bone

He no longer feels alone
He will guard it fierce
And then when he peers
Up, at you all aglow
You know it's a show
Of affection - for that
Makes him quite attached
And his loyalty to you
Is now sealed with glue

Do this quite often
And you will soften
All animosity he has
To animals who pass
Near your pathway
As long as he stays
Hooked well by chain
And there's no rain
To drench him throughout
From his paws to his snout

So treat your dog well then
And there'll be no telling
How far you both will get
In fusing the trust yet ...
