Focusing on what you do, and how you treat others

Is much more important than worrying about covers
Pulled over rubble which is piled in the back garden
Which has been lying there for years becoming harder

And the more time it sits there merging with the soil
The less people will be concerned about sweat and toil
It took to carry out all those weighty remembrances
And in time - all who have stared - will look askance

For time lessens the impact of all things thru history
And if you're not sure about this, look at the mystery
Surrounding the building of ancient Egyptian pyramids
Which is now shrouded in a veil - filled with myriads

Of different ways some said they could have built them
When there really is only one way it's possible to stem
The doubt all the investigations have foisted upon us
And that is to accept there is no substitute for trust

Which comes from dealing with people in the present
And not caring about what happened in the past tense
For it matters not where you came from before this wall
You have been asked to help lift into place over all

The Kings who have entrusted you to place these bricks
Over their final resting place where they will stick
Their most valued trinkets, art objects and treasure
Forever to merge with them in this - their final measure

Of a man's ultimate worth as he lies there evolving
Into another world whose price has never been solven
And the value of man is never based on his early past
But only on what he takes with him to grave at last.
