When we stand upon a soapbox

Things are thrown at us oft
But even so - we carry on
Stating views with our song

Knowing we stand in a place
Fixed, for there's no race
We have to win, for it's done
During a past which is the sum

Of places which we now expound
For we've done it all around
And now have come to positions
Which are solid, not fiction

And we can say there is not
Good in habits which can stop
For none of them do better us
Life can be so good without, plus

The course you take is more focused
When you divest of all hocus-pocus
And steer yourself along highways
Which lead forward to better days

So do consider there are choices
Which we have with our own voices
To be selective about all vice
And thus we grow and become nice
