Dreaming of Loving You Christopher W. Thomas (tristram@erols.com) dnb-as1s56.erols.com Wed, July 2, 1997 at 2:55AM |
When I held you in my arms
As I slipped away so calm
I wanted it to be forever
Feeling you breathe easier
You did murmur so loud ...
As we did ascend to clouds
And the beauty you were
Awoke me with a stir
Tears came down my face
As I realized the space
We shared for a week
As each other's cheeks
Became on fire with the rush
Now would only exist in brush
Fires over barren lands
Covered only with sand
Blowing over the memory
Which lives on in a story
Of the love we both were
In the short time we stirred
Each other's minds and hearts
As we expressed it in cards
We did ante up as we dared
To become one, and shared
All we had of ourselves
As we rode on, shelled
Of all our inhibitions
Towards life's lesson
The rush so fast to love
Can never be placed above
Needs of space and time
Which is a much more
gradual climb
