A Little Yellow Feather Christopher W. Thomas (tristram@erols.com) dnb-as1s18.erols.com Tues, July 1, 1997 at 7:21PM |
Sometimes things happen which do affect
Making us wonder so at nature and respect
The craft which goes into making all
Of God's creatures - great and small
A feather found whilst just walking
Around the block - left me gawking
Bending down to pick the plume up
I gazed at it in wonder, quite struck
By the delicate nature of my prize
So very unique, I was quite surprised
For it had so many hues and spots
It reminded me of zebras, or not
For it was so very different than
Anything else ever seen by this man
A rich golden yellow stem end-to-end
And coming out of it - many blends
Of yellow, brown, grey and white
- So many sunny colors, quite bright
And as I look at it now again with awe
I am struck so by the wonder of nature
which I adore ...
