Does your chewing gum loses its flavor on the bedpost overnite?

Stick that gooey gum of yours far back upon your tongue

And then swallow hard and this will thus make it become



A figment of your past imaginings - for you will have merged

It with your confused soul which needs a very strong purge

When you do take my advice and attempt this simple feat

You will find yourself some other food upon which to feast



If there is not anything close to you to be dined well upon

Then you can always reach back and write self a new song

Or if you really do need the nourishment that gum provides

You can always regurgitate and have yourself a fresh surprise
