You once said I was the most passionate man you'd ever known

And yet - even having said that - you've now kindly shown
Me the door - and after due course, quickly sent me packing
For what we became to each other - was found to be lacking

And here I have sat now for this past month, alone and sad
Knowing well it could not have worked, yet there is a tad
Of gloom when I think back to all we were to each other
And the fire we both breathed as together we did smother

Our rational thinking in a tide of our emotional needs
Which sang so with our combined heat, our hearts did bleed
And the desire you saw in me as you encouraged my moves
Fanned me ever further and thus made me want so to prove

The Love I felt so very deep in my heart, mind and soul
Which I wanted to share with you forever, as we got old
But you saw not this beautiful and picturesque vision
For it did not fit in with your scheme, as your decision

Was to turn your back on the most passionate man you'd known
And to go back to a life filled with unease at your home
Making us the most wonderful partners in love who did ever
Share the beauty of unbridled passion who could not see
forever ...
