Words Which Lie Christopher W. Thomas (tristram@erols.com) dnb-as1s02.erols.com Thurs, June 26, 1997 at 12:0PM |
There are words and there are words
Some are written and some are heard
But all of them come down to one thing
Those which speak of fact and so ring
True with their solid and hard feel
As they state unequivocally the deal
They represent in their cold fashion
For these words speak not of passion
Those which do - come from other places
Not from books of facts where no traces
Of feelings are deliberately expounded upon
Which sometimes are short but more often long
Words of passion are ripped out of the soul
And doing so - suddenly - makes them very old
And because they are dealt with impromptu
They do not always come across without blue
Sadness creeps in, and out of dark corners
Where emotions have burned so, they stormed
And lit fires in places all around the heart
And as they did so, the fuel gets a new start
And truths which to one seemed so self-evident
To another mind - is seen as a new providence
Which imparts pictures of a subsequent flow
As cogs turn and move wheels - above and below
