Love takes so many twists and turns

Sometimes it's difficult and burns

For those people do say it loud

And then remind they're too proud



To become any part of your life

Even tho you offered them "wife"

And then the pain of heartstrings 

Fluttering hard within does bring



You recriminations and supposals

As you try and figure out the pull

Which put you both together at the first

And look at the hows and whys which burst



Forth in your mind, and as you mull over

The avenues you went down to show her

All of the ways in which it could work

And faced brick walls which did jerk



You around and around, you became dizzy

And tried so hard to hang on and stay busy

You realized it was a very fruitless task

For the basket she filled - had no mask ...
