There are times in our lives - when we come to see

Things in our minds which perhaps did work out to be

Better for us than continued involvement in others

Who teased and tossed us crumbs when they bothered



To give us time of day which was seldom theirs to share

And then go about their business with their nose in air

People who were blind to our personality and character

For they were always lost in their own dark picture



Many of these have now come into hearts and then gone

And years or months later, they come back and strong

Pretending what is past is passed and to be forgotten

When they themselves conveniently forget how rotten



They have been in the past to bring down the house all

Built of cards built when they allowed themselves arousal 

All to turn YOU on to THEM amidst promises of involvement

When all they intended to do was tease you without relent
