A Look at the Day Christopher W. Thomas (tristram@erols.com) dnb-as1s20.erols.com Wed, June 25, 1997 at 9:41AM |
In the days of the future which passed without incident
There have been times when blessings have come and sent
Me into higher plateaus where much extended assessment
Has been made about the beauty of my life in this tent
In which we live with all the base pleasures of life
And the days do come and go without very much strife
Until one decides at once to connect to the Net World
In the hope of finding like minds whose lives do unfurl
In a similar way to the structure by which we dangle
Without aggravation of an environment which strangles
By attaching itself to our minds, bodies, and even souls
And in doing so, accelerates the process of getting old
And so we search, focused on this one steady, enviable goal
Intent on finding great Love somewhere in corners of it all
And then - just as we come face to face with this good toll
As tips of fingers reach out to virtually touch another soul
There is an interruption which breaks our solid connection
And we find ourselves back at home base where jettisoned
As the beat of our heart doubles or triples its rhythm
And we fume so - for something not under our control
has created mayhem ...
