The Last Snow to Fall Christopher W. Thomas (tristram@erols.com) dnb-as1s59.erols.com Mon, March 31, 1997 at 9:20PM |
When we've already tasted summer
It makes no sense to plummet
Into a return to cold of yesterday
When we were just beginning to play
And had turned out en masse
And filled our tanks with gas
In order to travel the miles
So we could greet the smiles
Which have adorned the face
And has made our heart race
So much so, we have spun gears
Which have given us some tears
Of joy, as we have traversed
Roads which are unrehearsed
With the glimmer in our heart
We will find a way to start
A new love union which'll be
The most perfect cup of tea
Which'll warm our heart to the quick
And allow us to finally kick
The last snow which has fallen
Back to yesterday, as we call in
All our reserves for trips to come
As we brave ourselves for the next sun
Which will shine on good knights
Even though it is dark of night.
