A Rain Which Pours Out of My Heart

Throughout the rains of time

As we proceed through our climbs
Up mountains, hills and dunes
As we hear rhythm and tunes
We see some staggered starts
Which have begun in our hearts
And we watch as they get caught
In wild traps of another sort
And we sit hopefully and wait
As so many fall for the bait
And then - when we survey
All which has been, thru days
We know there've been pauses
Caused by some other causes
And we settle in with wonder
As others do sometimes plunder
In the nether reaches of our hearts
Where we have had some false starts
When contacts have pursued us
And teased us with their lust
And we have played along in cards
Which have provided us with lard
Which oiled the wheels of our hearts
And made us think we had a start
On the road to real sharing
Which might make a pairing
But as the rains fell outside
We came apart under sides
When realization of tools
Used to pry open some fools
Grabbed hold of the cogs
Which were turned by logs
And we looked up now & found
Dark puddles on the ground
In which we see reflected
Images with no perspective
