Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained Christopher W. Thomas (tristram@erols.com) dnb-as1s27.erols.com Thurs, June 12, 1997 at 9:41PM |
When one person goes out ... upon a limb
Doesn't matter whether it's a her or a him
And mixes with you, without really knowing
What makes you tick, and thus - is glowing
From top of head right down to the tippy-toe
And is so full of honesty, naivete, and shows
They can be direct, and thus - they do enliven
Your spirits, and make you feel like jiving
It gives one new respect for the whole human race
And makes you realize anyone alive can be an ace
If only they would give a smile, and not a frown
For the effort made - is welcomed - by all around
And regardless of where some people do stand
Those who smile have everything well in hand
For they are venturing out of their own shell
And their gain should be a reflection of self.
