There are many roads to the stars

Some are paved with hoots and mars
When we can rise above all these snags
We learn to become at one with flags
Flying ... as we rush to the finish line
Some of us do this in record time
But for others - it can take decades
For the road is windy and filled with grades
Which wear heavily on the load we carry
As we muster up new strength as we tarry

T'is a pity there are no guides along the way
Who can steer us through the ruts in the haze
All we have as we push ourselves along
Is faith in ourselves and in heart - a song
But as we do proceed through our lives
We shall find there are no real hives
For nests are for bees who busily make honey
While people buzz around trying to make money
What is more important in this busy world
Is not WHERE you go, but HOW you meld ...
