I have discovered a treat I feel is tasty enough to share

So this little ditty is for those who would like to dare
To follow these directions in order to have quite a dish
Which will make you immediately long for a piece of it

Buy the freshest, largest, strawberries you can possibly find
Then bring them home and wash them to give you peace of mind
Sprinkle them lightly with cinnamon sugar or something else
Like confectioner's sugar or just plain, you have on the shelf

Then toast some English Muffins or scones, or even crumpets
Whatever it is, just make sure it's already blown your trumpet
Then spread it very lightly with your most favorite spread
... You know best what YOU like to put on any kind of bread

Then on top of this spread a light layer of jam or jelly
Strawberry is best, but raspberry works nice too, in the belly
Then slice your strawberries in half and layer them on top
In either two, three or four halves - however you did chop

Then get ready for the treat of your life, which is supreme
For a simple combination of these flavors will make you scream
With delight as the simple fruit merges with jam and butter
And the base does give substance for the words you'll utter

It tastes just like Strawberry Shortcake, some will even say
All it needs is the cream which really is not missed this day
For the tanginess combined with the sweet flavor will send you
Around the corner into sensual oblivion which will mend, too

Any frustration or sadness you have felt which tired you out
For this good little treat will smooth things over your bout
And the wonderful taste you have savored quite so succulent
Will linger on into the next few hours you choose to spend!

Hint:
Try it with Australian Toaster Cakes for the best
Stawberry Shortcake-like flavor ....
