The conversation seems to be going fine

And then - click!
You realize you have a very dead line
And so - you stick!
The phone back into its quiet cradle
And move - on out!
So to be (in the future) - better able
And now - shout!
To nobody at all - in particular
As you - climb!
Into car, and start driving far
With your mind!
Lost, in the confusion you do feel
As you - press!
On the accelerator as you do peel
Out - making mess!
On the road, as you now recklessly
Do - take off!
As your mind wanders in moves messy
You don't doff!
Then something gets in front of you
And - you stamp!
On brakes hard to keep from being stew
And - you snap!
In two now within your mind muddled
For - all!
You wanted from her - was to be cuddled
And - now!
You are seething so from that rebuff
You smack!
Right into the median strip in a huff!
