"Cold and clammy" would be a better superlative 

It's really a much more appropriate negative ...
Setting the mood for the day ... washing the mind
Then whatever goes wrong - comes back to the bind

Although it may well be fine to thus set the day ...
It creates a mindset that will not go away ...
And then the pessimists who see only dark clouds
Will ride upon them and thus infiltrate the crowd

There has to be a better way than to cast shadows ...
There needs to be something other than nudging elbows
I suspect all we really need do is turn over the cloud ...
Showing everyone the silver lining there to make them proud
