A sudden falling of leaves all at once
Crowded an early morning outward glance
A reminder it's getting to be the time to deal ...
With mountains of dead dry leaves before they congeal
And then, perhaps ... the leaves would then make a much better mulch
To scatter on flower beds to keep bulbs warm in the gulch ...
And, if this be so ... then Nature is already doing the best thing
Just piling up the layers to protect the flowers from Winter's sting
