On a day when folks are overly aware of bad luck

I've chosen to write a piece on symmetry - it sucks!

For nothing can ever be absolutely perfectly in-line

It only seems that way as they play tricks on mind



For even when all of the lines look completely right

There's bound to be something which changes the sight

Something small, perhaps ... or a line that's broken ...

By something else which needs to be there - a token



And this is where superstition tends to play a part ...

For there's always something suspect in every art ...

As very little work is done just for the sake of it ...

For everyone adds symmetry ... just to make it all fit!
