A Handful of Tops

Today was pickup day for a handful of tops ...
Placed on lay-away, six weeks ago, at the shop
Along with a new pair of dark blue sweatpants
Amazingly comfortable, and for that, I give thanks

For it's so difficult to find just the right bottoms
Some are just too unforgiving, in fact, a lot of 'em
... And pull at all the wrong places as one moves ...
Wounding parts one likes to keep in the groove

Tops on the other hand - are a dime a dozen
So many seem so right ... both in fit and just in
... The way they look and feel - so soft against skin
Along with bright colors ... so vivid, and fun to be in

As these five all are in their own special ways ...
Each have embroidered names too, these days
But that's okay ... although I'm not at all sure why ...
One needs to wear other folk's names ....
if they're not - in disguise
