The Value of a Mind

So many people can be unkind
If they do not understand a mind
So then they trash the character
Because they are really reacting

To other frustrations in their lives
And thus look for others to hide
Their own hurt and pain behind
Frontal attacks they use to unwind

Focusing on another without regard
To the hurt they impart as they scar
The souls of those they can target
Some of these are not at all larger

Than their very own inside deep down
Which hurt so and make them frown
And this face they turn on others
Who then go and run under covers

They need to stop and look at themselves
For their pain is hurting others too well
And diminishing the value of good minds
Who absorb their stings - less than kind

If work is reflected upon and read well
Then pain inflicted deserves not this hell
So assess value carefully before stating
Anything which can be interpreted as hating

Minds and hearts worn layered upon sleeves
Attached to nerves which sway in the breeze
For goodness abounds in the minds of men
All one needs do is search for it and then

Be supportive of the power and the value
Not say anything which'll be misconstrued
As the surest way to stop the constant flow
Is to cut off the legs under the mind below
