Rhythm versus story

In the hour of glory

At times, one properly counts

At others - it's all renounced



When the story pre-empts

Then meter is quite bent

I suspect wagging fingers

As tongues trip, eyes linger



Does it all really matter?

When so many mad hatters

Break the unwritten rules

Both in and out of school?
