When we make our needs more important than others ...

Without considering problems they may have under cover

And close our minds and ears to their viewpoint or stand ...

Then we assume what we detest in them (on the other hand)



Everyone has a right to be and do whatever it is they desire

Providing it does not conflict with another's rights or light fires

... Other than those internal ones we all stoke daily from within

The ones urging us on to be better persons - proud - with a grin



For that quality will always shine from us with a knowing smile

Lending it to others for them to adopt by choice with feet or miles

And when we do share this with those for whom we dearly care

Then, consideration truly comes from deep within half of that pair ...
