Plans are made far ahead of time

With hopes all will come out just fine
But, occasionally, things happen ...
To slow things, leaving a few gaps in

And then one wonders if time's healed
All the things which went before the seal
When vibes were played on a tuneless fret
And the sun rose, but never really quite set

And then, a few years further down the line
Events turn, and one stops right on a dime
Looking back to see from whence the change came
Before passions took over, then were tamed

By absence of heart, of body, of mind, and soul
Skin's wrinkled, and bones tightened as they got old
Now we're being stirred, and the liquid runs over top
As memories are pinched, and passion, again, runs hot
