Haven't been walking around the block for a while

(Doesn't take long for the trash to mount up in piles)

Bottles, beer and soda cans, paper cups, straws and bags

All hastily discarded from cars onto roadside, where it gags



Marring the wooded landscape, and destroying the beauty

Cheapening property values ... and so I make it my duty ...

To pick up all of the trash and unmar as much as I possibly can 

Getting covered by burrs in the process, along with some sand



Never mind ... it's well worth it to tidy up the property around

For there are many of us who benefit from the tidier ground

It's a minor inconvenience to do this chore from time to time

But consistency and dedication contribute to make things fine
