A sudden quiet in the night overcame sleep

From the radio there was not a single peep
A fuse had worn itself thin and shorted out
Taking with it the power to sing and shout

Perhaps, the long silence was way overdue
As it signified more than just a blown fuse ...
It marked the beginning of a change in the air
An end to the inactivity that's become scarce

Perhaps, now - with the rejuvenated power
Things will get better and better by the hour
It starts with being in the proper frame of mind
As heart shifts gear away from all past binds ...
