Sunrise at Ebo ...

Many mattress puffs
What a pretty show!
Couldn't get enough!

A sky parted ...
Blues and greys
A star darted ...
In a gold blaze

Streaking thru the sky
A quiet wonder to see
Such a swift smooth ride
Providing very much glee

Hairs on neck stood right up
And the pulse rate quickened
Heart skipped beat - or cut ...
And the throat just thickened

Licked the lips mid-gaze
Knees slightly trembled
Sought out light amazed
But star had tumbled ...

Don't even remember blinking
But it must have happened ...
Perhaps, the thought of new inking
Slowed these old eyes mapping

And now I see a dull, dreary sky
And wonder why it's so different
For, at Mount Ebo, the morn's sunrise
Promis'd a day so much more pleasant!
