Yesterday ... quite late

As dusk started to break
Heard squawking geese
Yet could not see ...

Until I look'd up ...
Stopp'd quite abrupt
A formation in a "v"
With one leg longer - a tree

Almost exact, but for three or four
Interrupting the line - sounding caws
Shouting out to others the order ...
"Get back in line" - a tape recorder ...

Repeating the same sounds
As birds floated on down ...
Heading south for the winter
No longer will they hinder ...

Finally, they have now gone
To other places along ...
The coast, or perhaps, inland
Leaving us to clean their stand
