At the tick of the clock
And just as the season's calendar turned
The cold hit with a shock
As Summer left, and Fall's cool was learned
The breeze in the air chilled
Through the thin shirts and pants donned
Fan blades no longer milled
As motors eased, after being on so long
Throughout the sticky days
Now - only a memory of times gone
As we get ready for the ways
The cold to come will make us strong
- Tristram
