On that very last day of summer

Just before temperatures plummet
A heavy rain has fallen, drenching
Everything not worth mentioning ...

For late summer's days had lent themselves
To a revamp of things before shelved ...
And tasks previously swept under the rug
With direction supplied, activated plugs

And some of those can now be fully realized
All it took is some initiative (the real surprise)
And a little propulsion, made of just the right stuff
Something of which, some - cannot get enough ...

And tonight - and tomorrow - Fall will appear ...
Slowing down the process which gave such cheer
For the winds will change, and leaves will fall ...
Stumping those who chose to give their all ....

- Tristram
