Sometimes we move on through our lives

Without checking to see whether we're tied
And this can cause some loose ends to unravel
And before we know it - we slip on the gravel

The best thing we can do to keep from slipping - ?
(Keep checking ourselves to see we're not tripping ...
On our very own laces - maybe flapping in the breeze
As we run about, winding in and out of all the trees)

Best to stay out in the open where the lightning storms
Have a lesser chance of hurting us, as the thunder forms
But the very best thing altogether we can do to save the day
Is to hang up those laces, and slide into slip-ons that'll stay ...
