Connections were down a little while ago

Whilst telephone men were perched on pole

Picked up to call a friend and to say hello

But voice answered - we're on this, now go



But if you want to make a call first, we'll letcha

As long as it isn't going to take too long, fella

Intimidation works well when you're a ghost

And the route to your server's yanked at post



So I asked what was going on out there, why?

The guy gave me an answer like it was a cream pie

"We're disconnecting you for just a short while

As we've just put fibre-optics in for the last mile



And we're switching you onto a fibre-optic network

So everything will run quicker and speedier and faster

And you will have less trouble with the line in the future"

So the phone company's finally got it, and is now mature!
