Sofa bought twenty years ago had fallen apart

Springs came loose, prodding folks' private parts
Was cute for awhile, but the joke'd worn thin ...
(Getting scratched down there does not promote grins)

So over the weekend, whilst on a long walk with dog
Came across an agreeable sight ( ... decided to hog ... )
A semi-circular white sofa I knew'd just fit in room
Using up all the length and most of the width, too

What's more ... the price was right - only forty bucks
Worth it just for the dozen scatter cushions with tucks
So, made two trips back there to pick up all of the pieces
(Broke down old one today to make room for the new creases)

Now it's in and up and sits so very elegantly to my left ...
A vision of purity to blend in with new pages addressed
A wonderful sight to behold, and so very comfortable, too
And it's about time, for now, my life can turn away from the blues
