It's hard to believe it's already been a year
Since the day Di died, bringing so many tears
But there it is - and there are the flower bouquets
Along with words expressed to remember the day
A pretty lady, well-caring and well-meaning ...
Who needed only dedication and solid leaning
But both lacked in the royal life of a princess
So she shed her mantle, becoming a lot less
Stripped of her royal title and associated names
The day she decided to become a commoner again
And now she's nothing more than a few video clips
And her sons are heirs to a throne which'll never quit
