Passing in front of the lake this morning
Saw a wonderful sight - three fawn following the water's edge
Gently trudging along with a steady step ...
Heads bent down, tracing their mirrored images upon the surface
Such a touching sight it was to see ...
So young were they ... it's understandable they were mystified
Perhaps ... the very first time they'd seen themselves ...
A vain, but dear sight - I shall remember always
- Tristram
