Down at the park ...

Had quite a lark
A score of geese ...
Stood ground unteased

Holding the playing field
At mound and at batter box
Others covered runs heeled
A few in outfield looked lost

Tossed ball near, for the dog
As geese looked in a fog ...
But did not budge their stance
Checking fielders with glance

Picked up ball and tossed it again
Geese then perched, awareness high
Watched dog catch ball before drain
Abruptly, geese then took to the sky ...
