Went out to do the usual walk around the block

To walk dog, and pick up stray debris chucked 

Found a large rubberized phone cable sleeve

Just lying on road edge - just could not believe



Was planning to put it on the phone company box

But then I saw it had been removed, after unlock

Instead, two more of those phone cable sleeves

Hung around the wires, taped shut from the breeze



One of which ... must have blown off the other ...

And why it lay on the ground (no wires to cover)

So, carefully picked it up and slid it over the sign

To make it easy for phone men to retrieve it, if ...

                                        they're not blind ....
