Sitting on a sand dune - large and proud

A lone swan shows the world just how
To perch with dignity all alone out there
Right in the middle of the lake - quite bare

Spreading wings gracefully high up in air
Fanning the humidity away from its lair
Then posing for a moment on top of the dune
Before gently encircling itself with wings in tune

A graceful picture filled with quite dignified pride
Of a wonderful bird who knows no shame inside
A feat each one of us would be clever to emulate
By living life in a way which needs not this state
