Another year's about to be tacked on

In just a few hours from now - plus one

Making a need to be a little reflective

In order to give it all some perspective



Is there a way to turn things back again?

Make things as they were, when plain ...?

Or were we always on a slow-fated train

Going nowhere across the sand-grains ...?



Stopping at a few stations here and there

Just long enough to pick up some new fares

Then - learning something new in our travels

Sometimes ... enough to get us unravelled ....



Can we not plead with The Almighty to allow ...

A return to routes we could have made before now  

Do you think there are ways to do it all over again?

In such a way- life is less drenched by all of the rain?
