A giant historical step was made

"One small step for man" at time

Then "One giant leap for mankind"



The phrases Neil A. Armstrong uttered

As foot was placed on land uncluttered

Starting a series of expeditions planned

To - at last - have the moon - manned ...



A dream envisioned just a decade before

And by a youthful president underscored

To have man on the moon by the seventies

A miracle performed not once, but a-plenty
