A fellow came by earlier this morning

Wanted to get the okay for a sawing

Of tree branches overhanging street

Getting in the way of traffic - not neat



So - signed the consent form in haste

As dog was overdue for walk (up late)

Nice to know tree surgeons still abound

Starting to consider longer cords unwound



Which are needed to give power to chainsaw

One which runs by electricity when unstored

Used it last year to do quite a bit of pruning

Until chain jumped off blade, stopping tuning



The young tree which was halfway cut down 

Still leans over from the nick in its trunk now

But new branches have formed around the cut

Letting you know it's still able to wake itself up
