Every single time I drive pass

He's just lying there, in repast
Sprawled across middle of drive
It's a small wonder he's still alive

Waiting patiently for master to come
So he can jump up and down and run
Which he usually does if folks walk by
Barking incessantly to guard his lie ...

A lovely-looking dog, all brown and white
A true pedigree of species, and quite bright
But a terror when anyone approaches on foot
Making sure nobody can enter, but his troops ...
