Syllabic Conventions

Read a few thoughts on syllabic conventions
Which prompted me to want to make a mention
... Not all syllables must be timed and counted
For a few phrases just don't need to be mounted

Some sentences tend to have their very own lilt
And extending them to match syllables - tilts ...
Writing the thoughts with taste and feeling
Can simply send the reader reeling ...

Making them all fit
Doesn't hurt one bit
But worrying it to death
Leaves one short of breath
