When we go from one extreme to another

Others observe and choose to take cover
There is a way to moderate some things
All one has to do is closely listen to rings

Which jingle and jar our rattled nerves
And adjust things accordingly to serve
Our better judgment - which we all have
All we need do is listen to our mind's trap

There are things we see when selective
Which can prime our other perspective
Causing us to moderate views and tasks
And allow room for ideas to be unmasked

Until we take in the quite larger overview
We'll sit and ponder and boil in our stew
Some others have some very valid reasons
Which can be seen from season to season

All we need do is step back from our own self
And consider the validity of other's points well
Practical considerations sometimes abound
... Accept more willingly, and you'll have found

The extremes with which you live day in, day out
Will no longer be so ... and others will learn about
The moderate way you now have of looking at life
Thus you will lessen your tension - and your strife
