Fathers and sons have so much in common
Because they've lived thru the same problems
First awareness of puberty's arrival is just one
And then - explanations are often offered to some
But others find out about birds and bees on their own
From friends or acquaintances who are often alone
And their ways of telling us leaves so much to be desired
Fathers have a much better way to inform about fires
And this creates a certain bonding which lasts thru life
For we've shared something personal, turned on lights
And so we then grow older, knowing we've shared
Something bolder, which none others should have dared
