Near and so far

Stay as you are
Ten minutes by car
My one so bright star

Please love me not this way
When will we have our day?
You have forsaken me
By so mistaking "we"

You saw not my love
Saw only the gloves
With which I cuddled you
When puddles formed new

Why is it so muddled - this break?
What on earth was my big mistake?
Can we not at all rectify the past?
Or will it be just memories that last?

Near and far ... there is just no way ...
You, who's so near, will be my day ...
And yet, my heavy true heart now pines
As limbs ache to hold you, one more time
