A real sense of wonder

Amidst all the blunders
When life tears one apart
A goodness must then start

As one peels apart the wrapping
Bearing veins which'd been napping
A throbbing starts in the temples
As sensations are remember'd

Comparisons of the "then and now"
Infuse self in an enlighten'd show
And suddenly the bombshell hits
What was before wasn't the pits

For whatever was (in a way) lopsided
Was offset by certain passion ignited
As two souls came together in a fire
Of this, this one of mine, could never tire
