When we choose to do or to be

Elsewhere than where it's free

Are we selecting to pay the fee

In order to get away on our skis?



So much of the things we choose to do

Is governed by those who make us blue

Either by communication or by the lack

Providing us with just a bit too much slack



And so we go on along our own merry way

Controlled to some extent by what others say

And so we have fallen into a rather large trap

Caught in hole from which there's no going back
