The day when someone you care for, reaches out

To talk, to listen, to share feelings and views about
All the topics discussed in the three months before
When you came so close to sharing forever more

But chose not to, after the realization came to be
It could only be a temporary visit, not shared free
For life is complicated, and puts up its obstacles
Whenever those plans are made to change it all

And then - what seemed a vision worth sharing
Suddenly becomes an adventure just too daring
So, plans are scrapped, and put on back burner
For whatever was before, was seen as a learner

... Those times when we envision pretty scopes
Based on good feelings, desires, and full of hope
But then the reality sets in, and we see the image
Of misdirected focus, and so we pull up quite timid

For the picture seen, was solely based on real fire
And fuel which ignited it, is flickering by the hour
Ticking away the time shared whilst plans erode
And the reality of years gaining has now showed

For the next three hundred and sixty five days
- Take the soul along the path to the fortys page
And from there on's a countdown to middle age
A time when most of us find self out of the daze

- Tristram
